Wicker Park Fine Art Fair 2026

Chicagoans should know about the 2nd annual Wicker Park Fine Art Fair, let's dive into some details about one of Chicago’s new big events in the art space!

What started out as a gardening club (thanks to master gardener Douglas Wood and gardening instructor Maria Mariottini) is now a huge event that highlights art, artists, and their relationship with the Wicker Park community and its respective gardens. 

WPFAF 2026 features a strong group of over 40 artists, all hand selected through the application process. For 8 hours on Saturday September 12th Chicagoans get to experience and potentially patron some fascinating and talented artists. Of those chosen is Candice Alise, a multi-disciplinarian who paints on canvas with acrylic and harnesses the power of bright colors against negative space; painting portraits of famous icons, beautiful models, and pieces containing pro Black political stances. 

In 2025 artist booths were laid out along the walkways that connect the field house, park, and playgrounds. Being that this is Wicker Park Chicago there was reportedly foot traffic and a steady stream of sales all day long. Not bad for promoting visual artists in their own city.
